SGA Sports Day: Children are excited, parents are pleased

This program is part of “SGA Sports Day”, which takes place from 14^th October to 23^rd December, conducted by the Saigon Academy International School (SGA).

Fun to play – passionate to learn

Tina Bruce, a leading expert on Early Childhood Education in Australia, has said: "The research on brain as well as in other fields have clarified the needs to have fun in childhood. Playing acts as a relay mechanism for anonymous thoughts of courage, creativity and seriousness in adulthood. "

In the period between 0-3 years of age, through fun activities, children will develop their intelligence, followed by the forming of positive emotions, giving children the ability to integrateand basic social communication skills. SGA is the pioneer of “The Early Childhood Curriculum from the age 0” program. Incorporating flexible teaching methodologies, learning from the games, children will always be learning by playing and playing by learning, easy learning as playing, having fun but still learn a lot. With the educational motto “Fun to play – Passionate to learn”, SGA has implemented many “best” programs, bringing many benefits for children. 

"SGA Sports Day" is a program realizing the educational motto " Fun to play – Passionate to learn ". Through this project, SGA expects to convey to the children the most basic knowledge such as: What is sport? Why do they have to play sports? How do they play sports with their friends at school?, … in a natural and fun way. Through the daily activities of the child such as: Go, run, jump, crawl, crawl, climb, ... "SGA Sports Day" will also develop children’s endurance, perseverance, ingenuity, confidence, teamwork, and give the children the opportunity to exchange with friends from the other campuses.

Attending to witness his child join the fun activities at Hoa Lu Stadium, Mr. Nguyen Le Trung, the father of Nguyen Hoang Minh, excitedly said: "Nowadays, many kindergartens seem to still be focused on theory so much thatthey lack fun activities for children. “SGA Sports Day” organized by the Saigon Academy International School is a useful playground. By following my child in such activities, I realized that not only my son but also the other children are excitedly involved”.

Good environment for the development of children

Developing social skills is always a vital goal and top priority of the SGA for each project. In the “SGA Sports Day” this time, children will learn how to control their emotions, follow rules, taking turns, sharing and teamwork. Children will also practice living skills – problem solving skills through distinguishing the movement patterns and familiarizing how to handle injuries. Observation and discovery skills will be enhanced when children practice to recognize the diversity of different sports types, sport equipment and stadiums. The project also helps children develop space intelligence, knowing how to orient the space through observing and remembering the mobilization posture.

Ms. Le Uyen Phuong, parent of the 5 year-old child Pham Minh Thanh, shared: “My child always feels excited every time that SGA has an outdoor activity. Participating in such a program, he becomes more confident. He also becomes stronger, faster and understands many things compared to other children in the same age. That is what parents always wish for their children. I feel assured when letting my child study at SGA with many scientific educational teaching methods, and my child is well cared’.

Certainly, with the "SGA Sports Day", children will be “Fun to play – passionate to learn”, laugh a lot, grow up healthy, confident like the green buds and shoots burst.
